About Me

I'm R.A.Desilets, and my writing is all over the place.  Young Adult literature is definitely my main focus, but I do dabble in horror and humor on occasion.  With YA, I love to write magical realism, paranormal, and urban fantasy.  I love to change just one facet of the real world and create something new and different.  Sometimes, when the characters are strong enough, I'll write contemporary.

I was raised in a small town in New Hampshire and moved to Boston to attend Emerson College.  I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor's in Writing, Literature, and Publishing.  This is the part where I tell you that I was an overachiever and also majored in Television Production and got a minor in Photography.  It was actually a lot of fun.

After graduating, I moved to southern California and turned my life into a bit of a cliche. I worked as a barista and met my partner while serving him coffee. We got married and adopted a bunch of cats. I currently reside in Oregon.

When I'm not writing, I play video games, drink tea, read way too much (though, is there such a thing?), and snowboard.
